Objective
Boca Raton Regional Hospital sought to transform its state-of-the-art Women’s Health & Wellness Institute from a silent, clinical environment into an uplifting sanctuary. While the facility’s architecture was designed for natural light and brightness, the lack of an intentional audio strategy created an atmosphere that felt too quiet and clinical. The primary objective was to design a multi-sensory program that reduces patient anxiety and creates a welcoming “spa-like” vibe, while simultaneously ensuring strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality through advanced audio engineering.

Custom Music Program
Mood Media’s music designers orchestrated a custom-curated music program featuring professionally designed, hits-based selections. This program is strategically scheduled to create a relaxing and welcoming environment for patients and their families. Fully licensed for commercial use and updated monthly, this audio solution ensures a fresh and relevant atmosphere that inspires a sense of calm and wellness throughout the facility.
Sound Systems & Sound Masking
To address the critical need for patient privacy, Mood Media designed and installed a commercial-grade sound masking system. This technology provides a consistent “blanket” of ambient sound that protects patient confidentiality and ensures HIPAA compliance. By integrating this with high-fidelity AV systems, Mood Media delivers pristine audio coverage that eliminates dead zones and supports a professional, secure environment.
Scent Marketing
To complete the “spa-like” transformation, Mood Media implemented a signature scenting program using the “Tranquil Waters” fragrance. Scent Direct Connect systems were installed in the main lobby to create an immediate positive impression, while specialized Scent Splash devices were deployed in restrooms throughout the hospital.
